    Bryanna Esquivel, DC, CCSP®, ICSC

    Dr. Esquivel is a Southern California native with a variety of experience working with special populations including: infants, children, athletes, and veterans. As a collegiate athlete, she was exposed to chiropractic care for the first time after enduring an injury on the softball field. She instantly fell in love with her chiropractor’s ability to tailor treatment specifically to her body and the sport she played.

    Dr. Esquivel is an alumni of Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, CA and has since started to grow roots in California’s Central Valley. She has a passion for delivering high quality, evidenced-based, chiropractic care and loves seeing patients take control of their overall health and wellness. Dr. Esquivel is trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques and is confident in her abilities to tailor her treatment to each and every patient.

    In her spare time, she loves finding the best places to grab a bite, watching her favorite MLB team on TV (or at the stadium), lifting weights, and soaking up the California sun on a hike or by the pool.

    Kaila Alvarez, CCSP®, ICSC, NREMT

    Dr. Kaila graduated in 2019 from Northwestern Health Sciences University with her Doctorate in Chiropractic with a Sports Emphasis with Honors. In order to obtain the Sports Emphasis with Honors, Dr. Kaila was required to fulfill at least a single sports-based internship and completing a research poster. She fulfilled two sports-based internships, one in the training room at a local private high school and the second in a sports-based clinic treating both professional and recreational athletes. Dr. Kaila received second place for her research poster “Can fatigue can affect knee proprioception?”. She also received a Student of the Year Award from the ACA Sports Council in 2019 and the Next Gen of the Year Award in 2021.

    Blake Graham, DC, MS, ICSC, DACBSP®

    Dr. Blake Graham is a dedicated Sports Medicine Provider with a passion for enhancing athletic performance and promoting overall wellness. With a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University and a Master’s in Strength and Human Performance, Blake brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his patients and athlete.

    Currently serving as a Sports Medicine Provider at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, AZ, Blake delivers top-tier services tailored to guests' individual needs, focusing on musculoskeletal issues and performance enhancement. In his role, he works as one of many in an integrated healthcare setting, helping guests from all over the world find answers and solutions to their healthcare needs.

    Prior to his current role, Blake was a Clinic Faculty Doctor at Parker University and Owner of Victory Sports Rehab in Flower Mound, TX, and an adjunct Professor at Texas Women’s University.

    Blake holds many different certifications within the sports medicine and performance realm, including his Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians© (DACBSP©), International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC), and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®), further demonstrating his commitment to enhancing athletic performance through evidence-based practices.

    Active within professional organizations, Blake serves in various capacities, including being a Director for the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, Director of Education for the ACA Sports Council, and was recently named the Director of Performance and Sports Medicine for the US Fistball Association.

    Rachael Fix, DC, NREMT

    After graduating from the University of North Dakota, Dr. Rachael Fix attended Northwestern Health Sciences University where she earned her chiropractic degree with a sports emphasis. While at NWHSU, she served a term as her school’s SACA Sports Council President and a term as the national SACA Sports Council Director of Communication.

    Dr. Fix moved back to North Dakota following her graduation and enjoys treating patients from all walks of life in rural North Dakota. She believes that everyone is an athlete, whether they know it or not, and enjoys bestowing this mentality onto her patients and community.

    Jordan Knowlton-Key, DC, MS, NREMT, CSCS, ASP, DACBSP®, ICSC

    Doctor Jordan Knowlton-Key currently serves as the chiropractic sports physician at the Lake Placid United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. He completed his chiropractic doctorate at Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) and obtained his Masters of Exercise Science from Concordia St. Paul University. After graduation, Dr. Jordan completed a two-year sports chiropractic residency at NWHSU’s Human Performance Center (HPC), a clinic of NWHSU that focuses on integrative health care for athletes.

    Following his residency, he served in a faculty position as the Integrative Sports Care Coordinator of the HPC. He developed a specialty in managing concussions and associated head injuries, leading him to present for numerous organizations on a national and international level on these topics. His passion for outdoor adventure sports led him to become an Alpine Ski Patroller in addition to being an emergency medical technician.

    Elizabeth Moos, DC, MS, CCSP

    Dr. Liz Moos graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2014, and following graduation she became their first Human Performance Fellow. During her fellowship she earned her MS in Exercise Science from Concordia University-St. Paul. She also had the opportunity to work with athletes of all different ages and abilities, ranging from high school to Olympic and professional athletes.

    In 2018 Liz moved to California where she is on faculty at Palmer College of Chiropractic-West Campus and works as part of an integrative team in corporate health. Her sports training includes holding the ICSC and the DACBSP.

    Liz has also been active in the ACA, SACA Advisory board, student advisor for the ACA Sports Council student executive committee and served as the 2nd VP for the ACA sports council.

    Sydney Ernst

    After wrapping up her Athletic Training studies at Winona State University, Dr. Sydney Ernst attended Palmer - Main in Iowa. While at Palmer, she served as the President of Sports Chiropractic Club for seven consecutive trimesters as well as a presidential term on the National SACA Sports Council ExCo.

    She completed student clerkship rotations at the Black Hills and Central Iowa VA Health Care Systems and fell in love with serving the Veteran population. Due to her drive and passion, she was elected as a Chiropractic Resident for the St. Louis VA Health Care System where she currently works.

    Sydney is passionate about bringing quality, evidence-informed musculoskeletal care to interdisciplinary environments and enjoys mentoring the future of the profession to uphold the same care values.

    Addison Ozakyol, DC

    Dr. Addison Ozakyol graduated from National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Pinellas Park, Fl after earning a bachelors degree in Athletic Training from the University of New Mexico (UNM) in his hometown, Albuquerque, NM. While attaining his undergraduate degree, Dr. Ozakyol worked extensively with UNM’s D1 athletes and has experience as on-the-field medical staff at multiple division and national championships and continues to work similar events whenever possible. Dr. Ozakyol currently works with National University of Health Sciences – FL as the attending clinician of the HEC clinical site and teaches Rehabilitation of the Athlete in core curriculum for the program. He currently serves as the President of the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society (PCCS) as well as Education Director for the Florida Chiropractic Association Sports Council (FCASC). Dr. Ozakyol also carries several advanced certifications in acupuncture and Active Release Techniques (ART), as well as his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) license allowing him to best serve the various needs of his patients.

    Dr. Ozakyol brings his love of sports into the office and draws upon his background as a competitive swimmer and collegiate water polo player when implementing care plans with patients. In his free time, Dr. Ozakyol enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, and spoiling his 3-year-old golden retriever named Cheerio.

    Timothy Stark, MPhil, MBA, DC, DACBSP, ICSC, CSCS, EMT, FICC

    Dr. Stark is originally from North Dakota, completed a bachelor’s degree in 1990 at North Dakota State University in Exercise Physiology and then went on to Northwestern College of Chiropractic where he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and subsequently pioneered an American residency in the specialty of Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation.

    He practiced in West Fargo, North Dakota for almost ten years before moving his family to Australia to assist with the development of a new chiropractic program at Murdoch University. This new School of Chiropractic and Sports Science allowed opportunities to instruct Physical Rehabilitation, Clinical Orthopedics, Clinical Neurology, Physiotherapeutics, and Applied Clinical Nutrition courses. He was also the Chair of the post-graduate and graduate programs including the Masters of Sports Science. While in Australia, he contributed to the development of a ‘sister’ chiropractic program in Japan.

    His publications are on the topics of physical rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. His current research efforts are directed toward Human Performance and Rehabilitation and address specifically recovery, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.

    In the last ten years, he has transitioned from being a full-time lecturer & Chair of the Clinical Sciences Department at the National University of Health Sciences to the Dean of the College of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University to his final seven years at NWHSU as the Director of the Human Performance Center. Currently, he is flexing his business leadership and strategic change experience while mentoring start-up businesses; Stark i3 (ideate, innovate, integrate) and is the Assistant Dean of Health Sciences at Bismarck State College.

    Additionally, Dr. Stark contributed to the growth of sports chiropractic, worldwide as a 20-year coordinator of the CCSP program for NWHSU and ten years as the FICS, Education Commission Chair. Lastly, he was recognized for his contributions and leadership by the American Chiropractic Association and awarded the 2017 Academician of the Year. Also in 2017, the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council Awarded him the Sports Chiropractor of the Year.

    Ira Shapiro

    Dr. Ira Shapiro served as a medical staff member in 2004 and 2006 for the U.S Olympic Teams. Additionally, he served as an attending sports chiropractor at the 2002 and 1996 Olympic Games, Pan-Am Games, World Games, Olympic Training Center, Gatorade Ironman Triathlon World Championships, U.S. National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships, U.S. Figure Skating Championships U.S Track and Field Championships. Dr. Shapiro has served on the BOD of both The American Chiropractic Board of Physicians (ACBSP) and The United States Sports Chiropractic Federation (USFCF).

    He is an ACA Sports Chiropractor of the year and the 11th inductee into the ACA Sports Council Hall of Fame.
