Call for Board of Director Nominations
April 2010
Dear ACASC member
One of the benefits of belonging to a professional organization such as the ACASC is the opportunity to actively participate in a leadership position and positively impact its strength and direction. If you are a qualified DC member of the ACA and the ACASC or you know of another DC with leadership potential, please complete this Call for Board of Director Nominations form and return it to the Secretary of the ACASC no later than May 31, 2010. All nominees must be certified and in good standing for at least two years immediately prior to the term of office. ACASC committee members are encouraged to submit self-nominations. If self-nominating, please attach a current curriculum vitae/resume and a short paragraph summarizing your qualifications.
The Nominating Committee will contact all qualified potential Nominees selected, to obtain their consent to be considered for nomination and ability to serve a two-year term if elected. Ballots will be mailed in June 2010 and election results announced on July 31, 2010 at our Annual Meeting. The leadership change is effective August 1, 2010.
There are three positions to be filled by the 2010 ballot election. The positions will consist of President, 2nd Vice-President, and Secretary. Except for the President, Council members desiring to run for an officer position must be a member in good standing, in the Council for a minimum of two years prior to the election and must have served a minimum of two years on a council committee, or served a minimum of two years on the Executive Committee. The President shall be elected for a term of one year but may also serve no more than two consecutive terms as President.
Duties
President: The President shall be the chief executive officer of this Council and shall preside over all meeting of the members and the Executive Committee. He/she shall be an ex-official member of all committees and shall have the general powers and duties of supervision and management usually vested in the office of the President of the Council. He shall name and appoint all committees with the approval of the Executive Committee.
Second Vice-President: The Second Vice-President shall act as program chairman and carry out any other duties forwarded to him by the President and the Executive Committee
Secretary:The Secretary shall assist in the editing of written materials and publications, keep minutes of all meetings and assist the Council in all of its duties.
